It took a couple of seasons, but the Sequim Wolves are back in the win column.

Dani Barrow led a sweep of the top three places in the 100 freestyle as Sequim edged Bremerton 89-88 on Oct. 11.

It's the first time Sequim won a meet since Sept. 21, 2010, when the Wolves beat Bremerton 94-66. Last season, the Knights dominated Sequim by 58 points.

This time around, Bremerton took first place in eight of the 12 events but Sequim made the most of its deep squad. The Wolves picked up nine second-place finishes and earned a key 10-point boost from the only two varsity divers in the meet: Emily Van Dyken and Bethanie Davis.

Barrow took first in the 100 free with a mark of 1:08 while Cassandra Calderon cut five seconds off her time in the same event with a 1:10 finish. They were followed closely by teammate Victoria Fitzpatrick, whose 1:12 finish was a two-second personal best.

Sequim finishes the regular season in Silverdale against Klahowya's Eagles on Oct. 18 before competing at the Olympic League meet on Oct. 23.

The 2A West Central District meet is Nov. 2.
