The looming onset of a rainstorm didn’t stop Sequim’s bats as they racked up 10 hits — six of them for extra bases — as well as six walks and seven stolen bases in a 9-0 rout of Bremerton on April 11, their first Olympic League win of the season.

Ian Miller tossed a four-hit, 10-strikeout complete game shutout and added three hits, two RBIs and two steals at the plate to pace Sequim.

Teammate Michael Grubb was 2-for-3 with two doubles and 3 RBIs and two runs scored. Ryan Clark, Johnnie Young and Silas Thomas each drove in a run, while Jamie Schroepfer and Kyler Rollness both had triples.

The Wolves’ error-free defense was also sharp behind Miller, who didn’t allow an extra base hit.

Sequim’s second game of the week, an April 13 match-up with Olympic, was postponed because of poor weather.

Sequim (1-5 in Olympic League play, 4-6 overall) was scheduled to play at Coupeville on April 16 — results for this edition were not available at press time.

The Wolves host North Mason on April 18 and plat at North Kitsap on April 19. Sequim then gets three consecutive home games — April 23 vs. Klahowya, April 25 vs. Port Angeles and April 27 vs. Kingston — before closing out the regular season on April 30 at Bremerton.
