At the ripe age of 5 Walter Thomas took home a medal in each category, while fellow academy students Aron Golbeck, 10, and Linda Allen, 56, did the same.
The trio were three of nine Bodystrong Taekwon-do Academy students to earn at least one medal at a United States Taekwon-do Federation tournament in Battle Ground on Sept. 15.
Thomas earned gold medals in sparring and patterns, while Allen — one of Sequim’s Bodystrong Taekwon-do instructors — earned gold in patterns.
Also earning gold medals were Ryan Stites in sparring, Marshal Phipps in breaking and Adrian Golbeck in patterns.
In all, 11 competitors from Bodystrong Taekwon-do Academy competed at Battle Ground.
