Sequim’s Wolves had a mixed bag of results last week, going 1-1 in their first Olympic League action of the season.

Sequim capped the week with a 3-2, non-league loss in Everett against Northwest Conference powerhouse Archbishop Murphy. Bobbi Sparks had two of Sequim’s four hits while Shelby Jones had a triple to lead off the fourth inning.

Lexi Klaudt led Archbishop with two hits, while Brooke Jordan picked up the win on the mound.

Jones had a solid start for the Wolves, Sequim coach Tim Lusk said.

“Excellent pitching by both teams with some outstanding defensive plays by each team,” Lusk said.

The Wolves started the week strong, knocking out 18 hits in a 15-5 thrashing of 1A opponent Klahowya on March 20.

Chloie and Bobbi Sparks had four hits apiece while Adrienne Haggerty added two hits, including a two-run home run in the third inning.

Jones, Raelynn Opdyke and Jessica Dominguez added two hits each in the offensive barrage.

Jones picked up the win in the mound; she and Isabelle Dennis gave up just four Eagle hits.

Emma Hough had two hits to lead Klahowya.

On March 22, Sequim got two hits apiece from Dennis, Haggerty and Bobbi Sparks for a win in the Wolves’ first Olympic League game of the season, a 7-2 home win over North Mason.

The Bulldogs grabbed an early lead but Sequim scored seven unanswered runs.

Dennis and Jones combined to allow two hits while striking out eight for Sequim, with Dennis picking up the win.

North Kitsap took advantage of six Sequim errors in handing Sequim’s Wolves their first Olympic League loss on March 24, a 10-5 decision.

Sophomore Sarah Smith tossed six innings for the win, while Piper Rutzer paced the Viking offense with two hits.

Dennis, Jones, Chloie Sparks and Jordan Bentz led Sequim with two hits each, as Sequim out-hit their hosts 9-6.
