With a big win against struggling Kingston, Sequim’s fastpitch squad further cemented their place among the Olympic League’s postseason-bound teams.

Led by six seniors playing their final game on their home field — including right-handed hurler Isabelle Dennis — Sequim racked up 17 hits in a 22-2 rout of the Kingston Buccaneers on April 26.

Dennis gave up two runs on just three hits for the win, backed by a three-run home run from Jayla Julmist.

Dennis, Julmist, Ashleigh Cate, Christy Grubb, Raelyn Opdyke, Kiana Robideau and Latisha Robideau each had at least two hits.

Playing their final home games were Cate, Dennis, Opdyke, Mikayla Ewing, Latisha Robideau and Bobbi Sparks.

Results of Sequim’s league game at Olympic on April 29 were not available at press time.

Looking ahead

Sequim is at North Kitsap on May 1 and at Port Angeles on May 2 before finishing the regular season with their fourth consecutive road game, a May 9 league game at Bremerton.

The West Central District tourney is set for May 17-18 in Lacey.
