Girls tennis: NK hands SHS squad first losses of season

Sequim’s Wolves nearly knocked off one of the top teams in the state last week but came up short twice in two days, falling to North Kitsap in Poulsbo 5-2 on April 25 and 4-3 in Sequim on April 26. The Wolves (11-2 in Olympic League play and overall) rebounded with 7-0 sweeps of Klahowya on April 25 and Port Angeles on April 26. Sequim was scheduled to play at Port Angeles on April 30 — details were not available for this section at press time. The Wolves finish the regular season with a May 3 home date against Olympic, their final tune-up for the Olympic League tourney set for May 9-10 in Poulsbo. Top singles and doubles players from that advance to the West Central District tournament in Bremerton May 18 and 19.
