Golf tourney raises $11K+ for senior graduation party

Bill Shea and Audrey Lato celebrate a successful 2018 Golf For Grads golf tournament. Held May 15 at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course, the tourney raised $11,200 that will go toward the party following the Sequim High School commencement ceremonies on June 8. The party is open to all graduating seniors in Sequim and is designed to keep seniors “safe and sober” on their graduation night. About 45 players turned out for the four-person scramble format tourney, said Shea — Director of Golf/General Manager at The Cedars who also has a graduating senior (Sarah) this spring. The event was sponsored by 7 Cedars Casino with support from fellow sponsors First Federal and OSP Sling, Swinerton Builders, Wilder Auto, Price Ford, Lakeside Industries, Koenig Subaru, Payne Law Firm, Team McAleer Re/Max, Anytime Fitness – Sequim, Rinehart Consulting, Bleimisters, Peninsula Golf Course and the Cedars at Dungeness.
