The No. 4-ranked Peninsula College men moved into sole possession of first place in the NWAC North Division Jan. 25 after beating Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon.

Three days later, PC solidified that top spot with a big won over Edmonds at home.

On their home court, PC got 22 points from Jalon McCullough and 19 points and seven rebounds from Alex Baham as they routed the Tritons with a 52-point second half.

Trent Warren had a 16-point, eight-rebound effort, and Cole Rabedeaux and Darrion Daniels added 12 points for Peninsula.

Pepe Hernandez led Edmonds with 28 points, four steals and four assists.

Against Skagit Valley, the Pirates used a strong rebounding advantage and some sharp perimeter shooting to surprise a talented Skagit Valley team, going out in front 45-29 at halftime and then holding on to win, 86-81.

Baham and McCullough each hit on six 3-point shots to lead Peninsula with 21 and 20 points respectively; McCullough was 6-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Daniels added 15 points and eight rebounds before fouling out with only 24 minutes of action Wednesday, and Warren hit for 10.

Cameron Howell led the Cardinals with 19 points and Tyler Kidd finished with 17.

Looking ahead

The Pirates are home for three consecutive games. PC hosts Whatcom on Feb. 1, Shoreline on Feb. 8 and Olympic on Feb. 15. PC is back on the road Feb. 19 to take on the Bellevue Bulldogs.
