Men’s basketball: Pirates start new year with rout of Highline’s Thunderbirds

Home, sweet home.

Peninsula’s men got a big win — their third consecutive victory — with an 86-61 trouncing of visiting Highline on Jan. 4.

Colby Jackson led a balanced PC attack with 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Kaelin Crane had 14 points and Marky Adams had 13 as each Pirate started scored in double figures.

Peninsula, who shot 35 of 62 from the field (56.5 percent) out-rebounded Highline 39-25.

The gane was decided by halftime after PC took a 47-20 lead.

Eli’sha Sheppard added 10 points off the bench as five PC reserves notched at least two points.

David Harris led Highline with 23 points on 9-for-17 shooting, but no other Thunderbird scored in double figures.

Looking ahead

The Pirates gets some home cooking for their next two games: they host Shoreline on Jan. 10 and Everett on Jan. 13. Peninsula plays at Olympic (Bremerton) on Jan. 17 and Bellevue on Jan. 20 beofre hosting Skagit Valley on Jan. 24.
