Seamanship, boating skills class set

The Port Angeles Coast Guard Auxiliary will host a Boating Skills and Seamanship class, an advanced course compared to the one-day Boating Safety class, and will allow participants to earn a Washington state boating card.

The class will be held from 6-8 p.m., April 23-27, and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Rainbows End RV Park, 261831 US Highway 101, Sequim.

Olympic Crosscutters set tryouts for April 22

The Olympic Crosscutters American Legion Single A Division baseball team will hold tryouts to expand its team for the upcoming 2018 season.

Seventh- through 10th-graders from anywhere on the Olympic Peninsula are encouraged to try out. Current players reside in Forks, Port Angeles, Sequim and the East Jefferson County area.

Tryouts will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the Sequim High School baseball fields. The game schedule starts on May 19 and includes about 35 games, concluding with district and state tournaments if the team qualifies.

Player fees are $400. Athletes will be responsible for transportation, lodging and food when traveling. Games will take place in Anacortes, Blaine and the northern Interstate 5 corridor.

Summer soccer camps set at college

Port Angeles Youth Soccer Club is accepting registrations for its summer camps held at Peninsula College. Camps will run from Monday through Friday, June 25-29 and July 23-27.

Sessions for U8 and U9 players with birth years of 2009 and 2010 will run from 9-11 a.m. Cost for these sessions is $35. Those in the U10-U16 age range with birth years of 2002-2008 will run from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost for the older players is $100.
