‘Trolls’ run set for Saturday

The third annual Valley of the Trolls, an event featuring a half marathon, 10-kilometer and 5k races, is set for Saturday, Aug. 19.

The event is held at Troll Haven Bandy Farms, a troll-themed property at 950 Gardiner Beach Road, beginning at 8 a.m. Race organizers are challenging the citizens of Port Angeles, Sequim, Port Townsend and Chimacum to compete.

The town with the most runners will have a donation made to the town’s high school track and field program.

All finishers receive a T-shirt and medal.

SHS cross country practice set

The first practice for Sequim High School’s boys and girls cross country seasons is set for 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at Railroad Bridge Park. Participants are asked to bring their appropriate paperwork. Subsequent practice times and dates will be give out at the first practice, coaches say.
