Sequim hoops camp

Sequim Youth Basketball will host a camp for boys and girls Monday-Tuesday, Aug. 14-15 at Sequim High School.

The registration fee is $50.

Parents and guardians can fill out player registrations and medical waivers on site.

Youths in grades 1-4 will camp from 9 a.m.-noon. Those in grades f5-8 will go from 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Players should bring a basketball, water bottle and court shoes.

Sergi sinks an ace

Anthony Sergi of Sequim sank his third lifetime hole-in-one at The Cedars at Dungeness on July 31. Sergi used a 7-iron to drive the 175-yard hole No. 17. Scott Aughtry of Sequim and Justin Hill and Mason Sergi of Port Angeles witnessed the feat.

Henderson is champ at Peninsula

Sherry Henderson shot a two-day 173 to take the 2017 Peninsula Golf Club Lady Golfers Championship, which finished Aug. 5. Henderson, who also won the 2015 title, finished one shot ahead of Doris Sparks. Sparks’ score of 174 tied with Dolly Burnett and Rena Peabody, and she won on the second playoff hole. Low net winner was Barbara Thompson (138).

The Peninsula Lady Golfers tee off at 9 a.m. on Wednesday mornings and welcome guests to join them at the course (824 S. Lindberg Road, Port Angeles).
