Soccer leagues set in Sequim

The Sequim FC soccer league is now open for spring season registration. The league has three adult (age 16 and older) soccer leagues options, with the standard adult, coed competitive league playing 11-on-11 format. Sequim FC also features an over-40 coed and women-only leagues.

League representatives call the league a “recreational soccer league where you can meet new people, stay active and play with friends” and is a “perfect opportunity to stay involved in the game, get a run out and play with like-minded individuals.”

Women’s hoops league to start

The Port Angeles Parks & Recreation women’s basketball league starts in early April, with a registration deadline of March 29.

Cost is $400 per team and is open to women ages 16 and older. Players without a team can get on a “free agent” list. The season lasts six weeks.

Robinson gets first ace

Brianna Robinson of Sequim sank her first hole-in-one last week, acing hole No. 8 at The Cedars at Dungeness.

Robinson used a 7-iron to drive the 94-yard hole.

Elise Allen of Sequim and Morgan Snell of Port Angeles witnessed the feat.

Adult soccer league slated

The Port Angeles Parks & Recreation Department and Peninsula College host an adult coed soccer league that starts April 14. Cost is $55 per player. Individual players will be placed on teams on an “as needed” basis.

Softball leagues forming on PA

The Port Angeles Parks & Recreation Department hosts men’s and women’s softball leagues this spring, with games starting in late April.

Registration is $900 per team the deadline is April 19.

Games are at Elks and Shane fields in Port Angeles.

All men ages 18 and older are eligible. Those not on a team can sign up and be put on a “free agent” list.

Spring Shotgun Invitational set

The Peninsula Golf Club in Port Angeles hosts the 2019 Spring Shotgun Invitational on May 25-26.

With room for 72 teams, the two-person shamble-format tourney features men’s and women’s divisions (must be 21+); cost is $260 per team. Fee pays for a practice round (with spouse), tee prizes, cash KPs, hors d’oeuvres, lunch, drinks and more.
