Registration open for festival fun run
Registration is now open for the Sequim Irrigation Festival Fun Run, set for Saturday, May 12.
The race begins and ends at the Sequim JcPenney parking lot at 10 a.m. and is open to all ages.
To register for the 5k or 1-mile fun run/walk, go to www.irrigationfestival.com/event/irrigation-festival-fun-run/ or register day of race starting at 8:30 a.m. near the race start/finish line.

Fly fishers to meet
The next meeting of the Sequim Greywolf Fly Fishers is set for 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Masonic Lodge, 700 S. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
There will be a brief business meeting followed by fishing reports on local lakes and favorite flies that successfully catch fish.
The remainder of the meeting is reserved for individual fly tying.
Attendees may tie a fly of their choice (bring fly-tying equipment and materials) or observe this month’s tying event.
There will also be a fly raffle and discussion about recent adventures, and a fly fishing gear sale and auction.
The club’s 2018 annual dues are due: $20 for single fishers and $30 for family fishers.

Storm King soccer hosting tryouts
Registration is open now for Storm King soccer tryouts for the fall 2018 season, with tryouts set for Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, at Agnew Fields, 1240 North Barr Road, Port Angeles.
Teams will be formed for the following age groups, based on birth year: boys, 2010-2000 and girls, 2010-2004.
Tryouts for U10-13 teams is 8:30 a.m.-noon, and for U14-19 is 1:30-5 p.m.
Online registration is required prior to tryouts; sing up at www.stormkingsoccer.com.
Register by May 14 to be entered in a drawing for prizes.
There is no cost for tryouts. Fee information for players who are selected for a team is available on the website. Scholarships and payment plans are available.
