SHS bowling team improves to 2-1

Behind solid games from Isabelle Dennis, Destiny Staus and Quinn Danielson, Sequim High’s bowling squad knocked off Bremerton 6-1 on Nov. 16, improving to 2-1 on the season.

Dennis bowled a team-high 132 in the first regular game and 262 overall. Staus had a team-best 148-pin second game (261 overall), and Danielson had 254 pins in her two games.

Sequim won the regular-format games 568-557 and 617-538, and won the first Baker-format game, 133-111.

It’s the second time this season Sequim beat Bremerton.

The Wolves were scheduled to play Klahowya on Nov. 21. Sequim is at Olympic on Nov. 28 and at North Mason on Nov. 30.

SkyRidge plans ‘Post Turkey Day’ tourney

SkyRidge Golf Course hosts its Post Turkey Day Two-Person Scramble and Better Ball tournament on Friday, Nov. 24, at the course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway. The tourney begins with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (barring frost).

Cost is $60 per team with a $20-per-team honey pot. Fee includes gross and net prizes, KPs and LPs, and lunch after play. Power carts are $15 per seat and there is an optional Horserace Scramble following the tourney and lunch (six holes, $10 per team).
