Roller derby set to roll in Sequim Jan. 21

The Port Scandalous Roller Derby’s Strait Shooters squad kicks off its seventh season with the Winter Brawl, a match against the Tilted Thunder Railbirds, set for 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Sequim Boys &Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for military/seniors/youths ages 7-12, and free for those 6 and younger. Tickets are available at the Sequim Gazette, Peninsula Daily News and online (at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2729032), or get tickets at the door. The event includes a beer garden (21+ with ID) and 50/50 raffle.

Fun run, walk reset in Port Angeles

The Port Angeles Parks &Recreation Department is hosting the RainDeer Fun Run/Walk Saturday, Jan. 7, beginning at 1 p.m.

The 5k and 10k run/walk starts at the City Pier and follows the Waterfront Trail out and back.

There will be shirts for pre-registered participants and some prizes for best costumes, and antlers to the first 50 registered.

Cost is $23 per person, $11 for 18 and younger.
