Wapiti Bowmen host Father’s Day 3-D shoot

The Wapiti Bowmen Archery Club hosts a 3-D shoot on Father’s Day weekend, June 17-18. The shoot is open to the public. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $12 (one day) or $20 (both) for adults, $8 (one day) or $12 (both) for youths up to age 17. Free camping is available; breakfast and lunch is offered for $5 each.

A nonprofit organization with about 160 single and family memberships, the club and its 20-acre facility are at 374 E. Arnette Road, Port Angeles. Along with a number of highly ranked archers with state rankings and records, the Wapiti Bowmen Archery Club hosts 4-H youth classes and hunter safety classes, along with special events each year.

Club officials say the Wapiti Bowmen Archery Club is “a family oriented club that has been dedicated to the promotion of the sport of archery since 1964.”

The club’s facility includes a heated, indoor 20-yard range, two nature trails with 14 targets each (10-80 yards), a covered outdoor flat range (10-70 yards), a broadhead sandpit, picnic tables and more, to go along with multiple tournaments and leagues throughout the year. Free facility tours are available upon request.
