Olympic League standings

(as of April 17)

Team Lg. Over.

Port Angeles 4-0 5-1

Olympic 3-1 5-1

Sequim 3-2 4-5

North Kitsap 2-1 3-3

Kingston 0-3 0-6

North Mason 1-2 2-3

Bremerton 0-4 0-4

With field conditions pushing Sequim’s varsity squad to their junior varsity field, the Wolves nearly fell victim to an upset bid by Bremerton on April 12.

Sequim’s bats came alive late in the game, however, and the Wolves wound up with a 12-4 win against the visiting Knights.

Isabelle Dennis started the fifth inning with a triple that triggered a nine-run rally to spark the win.

Dennis and Adrienne Haggerty each had two hits each, including triples. Jordan Bentz and Shelby Wells added a double each.

Sequim starter Shelby Jones gave up five hits in five innings for the win.

Precious Stowers led Bremerton with four hits.

Looking ahead

The Wolves were scheduled to make up a postponed game from last week on April 18, hosting the Olympic Trojans.

They play at North Mason on April 19 and North Kitsap on April 20.

Sequim hosts Chimacum on April 24 before two more road games: April 26 at rival Port Angeles and April 28 at Kingston.
