The United Way annual fund drive is well under way and going strong, says Jody Moss, United Way executive director. This year’s United Way goal is
$1 million with a theme of "LIVE United!"
"We have now reached the $100,000 mark so we are 10 percent of the way there," Moss says.
The Sequim campaign chairmen this year are Sharon Delabarre and Bob Schilling, who are working with other campaign volunteers from all over Sequim. So far Sequim has raised $30,739 toward the overall goal. Last year, Sequim raised $240,000.
According to Gary Cohn, this year’s campaign co-chairman, "Each year the restaurants all over Clallam County raise several thousand dollars toward the United Way goal. They are important donors who give back to our community."
Last year 34 restaurants raised more than $3,700.
Restaurants in Sequim, Port Angeles, Forks and Clallam Bay/Sekiu will be celebrating Restaurant Day and will donate a portion of their proceeds to the United Way campaign.
The following Sequim restaurants are participating in Restaurant Day this year:
Alder Wood Bistro, Café Blossom, Cedar Creek Cuisine, Cedarbrook Garden Café, Double Eagle Steak & Seafood, Galare Thai, Hi-Way 101 Diner, Jean’s Deli, Mariner Café, Moon Palace, Oak Table Cafe, Pizza Factory, Sergio’s Family Restaurant, Tarcisio’s and The Buzz.
