Renee Jones, RN, presents a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “First Aid in the Home” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Olympic Medical Park, 840 N. Fifth Ave., in Sequim.
The presentation covers the skills necessary to control bleeding, treat a burn, splint a broken bone and aid someone who is choking. She addresses what to know about a situation before starting to help someone else, including the basic three “C’s” of every emergency. She discusses supplies that should be in every home or car.
Jones has been working and teaching in nursing for more than 40 years. She has taught nursing skills at a community college in Northern California, has worked as a school nurse and has been involved with all kinds of home health care.
Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic—Sequim’s free clinic, providing basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.
