A Sequim woman was transported to Olympic Medical Center following a two-vehicle collision at about 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, on U.S. Highway 101 near Kitchen-Dick Road, about three miles west of Sequim.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Michele J. Sorrentino, 60, of Sequim, was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 101 when a vehicle driven by 70-year-old Sheila M. Taylor of Port Angeles pulled onto the highway, striking Sorrentino’s sport utility vehicle in the side.

The collision caused Sorrentino’s vehicle to roll; the SUV came to rest on its top and was totaled.

Taylor was not injured in the wreck.

Cause of the collision was failure to yield, the state patrol reported.
