Rosemary Gallagher and Jim Hanley were married Aug. 4, 1956, in Chicago, Ill., at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church by Jim’s uncle, the Rev. Leo Hanley.

Rosemary’s younger sister Miriam was her maid of honor and Jim’s brother Leo was his best man.

After spending his Navy tour of duty on the West Coast it was understood that once he obtained his college degree, they would leave the Chicago weather and enjoy the sunny West Coast.

Six years and two children later they moved to the San Fernando Valley in California where they raised their children, five boys and one girl.

After their youngest, Patrick, received his college degree and moved to the Silicon Valley, it was time to downsize.

They moved to Sequim in 2000 where they had been visiting Rosemary’s older sister Helen Elliott-Stratton since 1990 in Sunland.

A surprise anniversary party was given on June 18 by their children, Rosemary’s sister Helen and many of their friends.
