Grand opening slated

Vendor tables available

Tables still are available for the Sequim Prairie Grange flea market on Sept. 17. Tables cost $15 each and can be reserved by contacting Bob Clark at 808-2364 or 683-4431.

The flea market and bake sale runs from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and lunch is available. Tailgaters also are welcome.

The Grange is at 290 Macleay Road, Sequim.

Sleep Train hosts shoe drive

Help ensure local foster children have that same feeling with a donation of new shoes to Sleep Train’s Shoe Drive for Foster Kids. Donations also help support local foster families, who often welcome children into their homes with just the clothes on their backs and are tasked with quickly replacing essential items.

Now through Oct. 30, donate new shoes in all sizes – toddler to teen – at any Sleep Train store. Sequim’s location is 1041 W. Washington St.

Nourish offers night of tasting

Nourish, 101 Provence View Lane, Sequim, will host the first Nourish Fall Tasting from 4-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, with a variety of local vendors. Nourish also is preparing a tasting menu for you to create your own progressive dinner of tastes and flights.

Ticketing for tasting packages are available through nourishfalltasting.brownpaper tickets.com and 5 percent of all proceeds go to The Olympic Peninsula Healthy Community Coalition.

Landscape problems classes set

Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 7-9 p.m. and on the next three Wednesdays in October, classes on common landscape problems will presented by Doug Cockburn, a certified landscape professional, at New Dungeness Nursery.com.

The four evening classes at the Sequim Prairie Garden Club and one-day class in the nursery will discuss common problems with homeowner’s yards. A fee applies.
