Skwim Toastmasters to host Port Angeles mayor

Skwim Toastmasters invite residents to focus on their own leadership journey at a special leadership-focused meeting featuring keynote speaker, Port Angeles Mayor Sissi Bruch, from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the club’s usual meeting location — “The Gathering Place” 135 Fairway Drive, in Sunland.

Admission is free, though reservations requested at MayorBruch.eventbrite.com.

“We’re all about growing the leadership potential of our members,” club president

Lindy MacLaine said. “We’re delighted to have Mayor Bruch as our guest speaker. Her willingness to share how she got where she is will surely inspire the rest of us.”

Mayor Bruch’s 20-minute presentation, titled “My Journey to Leadership,” will highlight the turning points, philosophies and beliefs that have shaped her career.

The meeting will open with a Toastmasters mini-demo meeting.

“It’s a perfect opportunity to check out how people grow their communication and leadership skills through Toastmasters,” club member Distinguished Toastmaster Kyle Hall said.

Skwim Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

The Sequim club meets each Tuesday from 7- 8:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place.
