Milestone: 2020 Sequim High grad Dietzman gets P.E.O. scholarship

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic years was recently awarded to 2020 Sequim High School graduate Jessica Dietzman, in recognition of her outstanding high school academic career along with her contributions to her school and community.
Dietzman received fall 2020 admission with distinction to Western Washington University in Bellingham, and plans to study business marketing (in the honors program) with an emphasis on sustainability.
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.
The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application.
A student must be recommended by a P.E.O. Chapter. Dietzman, the daughter of Rick and Andrea Dietzman, was recommended for this scholarship by P.E.O. Chapter JC of Sequim.
An international philanthropic and educational organization which promotes increased educational opportunities for women, the P.E.O. Sisterhood was founded in 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. There are nearly 6,000 local chapters in the U.S. and Canada with almost 250,000 initiated members.
