Michael Trebert Chapter provided the Oath of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) to 12 of the 21 verified NSDAR members at the Northwest Veterans Resource Center in Port Angeles on Jan. 17.

Eight of the 12 members attending are from Sequim, the four others from port Angeles.

Chapter members have had their eligibility certified by the National Society by “verification of proven lineal descent from an ancestor who gave aid to American Colonists during the American Revolution,” club members said.

After the oath was given by chapter chaplain Melody Albertson, each new member received a small DAR gift, a white rose, an orientation notebook and a copy of their national application at the welcoming ceremony by registrar Ginny Wagner and regent Judy Tordini.

Members are further offered a local experienced DAR mentor to help learn about the NSDAR opportunities in the community.

“We are honored to welcome more patriotic and dedicated women into Michael Trebert Chapter,” Tordini said.

Michael Trebert is part of the group of more than one million women who have joined NSDAR since its founding in 1890.
