Quartet takes top honors at Bob Cup
Organizers recorded a record fundraising year at the 2023 Bob Cup golf tournament, held July 29 at The Cedars at Dungeness.
Funds raised at this year’s tourney will help cover expenses for the Clallam County Orcas, local athletes competing in Special Olympics events.
Group play winners were Chris Burris, Dustin Halverson, Grant Smithson and Jake Tjernell.
Tourney organizers will continue to accept donations. Make checks out to “SOWA CC Orcas” (“Bob Cup in the memo line) and send to: P.O. Box 87, Carlsborg, WA 98324.
Chon gets ace at The Cedars
Lusa Chon of Sequim sank an ace at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course on Aug.1. Chon used a 10-iron to drive the 84-yard hole No. 8 at The Cedars. Marine Hirschfeld of Sequim and Wanda Synnestvedt of Port Angeles witnessed the feat.
Golf tourney to benefit nature center
The fifth-annual River Center Charity Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course, 1965 Woodcock Road.
Check-in time for the four-person scramble is 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start set for 9:15 a.m. Cost is $100 per player and includes green fees, cart, range balls, lunch and prizes.
All proceeds go award the Dungeness River Nature Center’s ongoing operations and educational programs.
