North Kitsap once again proved a tough match for Sequim on the courts, sweeping the season series after knocking off the Wolves (4-5) in a 6-1 decision on Sept. 28.

Garrett Little remained undefeated on the season in earning Sequim’s lone win, a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Indigo Gallagher-Zapf at No. 1 singles.

The Vikings won the other six matches, dropping only a cumulative five points in topping the young SHS squad.

A day later, Sequim dropped a 4-2 decision to 3A Bainbridge, with one match being called because of darkness.

Little improved to 9-0 on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Charlie Combs. Sebastian Buhrer and Isaac McKeen won a tough match at No. 3 doubles that went to a tiebreaker (6-3, 3-6, 10-8) against Spartans London Matcho and Milo Quirindongo.

SHS’s William Hughes and Tom Laschet lost a heart-breaker at No. 1 doubles, 7-6 (8-6) and 7-5, to Rowan Kehoe and Rafferty Rosencrans, as did Lincoln Bear and Hunter Tennell at No. 2 doubles to Bainbridge’s Jaxon Maggio and Logan Taylor (6-2, 5-7, 10-7).

Sequim was set to play at East Jefferson on Oct. 2; results were not available at press time.

The Wolves host Kingston on Oct. 5, play at Olympic on Oct. 9 and finish the regular season on Oct. 11 at home against rival Port Angeles.

The Olympic League tournament is slated for Oct. 20-21 in Poulsbo.
