Bonnie Jean Pena Andersen

December 25, 1941 – October 23, 2025

Bonnie Jean Pena Andersen of Sequim, WA passed away on October 23, 2025 following a long battle with dementia. Bonnie was born in San Diego, California on Christmas Day December 25, 1941. Вonnie was predeceased by her mother Sally Cogle, her father Ame Ruiz Pena, her brother Jimmy Reed and her sister Mae Hoffert. Bonnie is survived by her sister Janet Thomas.

Bonnie and Bill Andersen were married in Redding California on September 3, 1965 and celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary anniversary on September 3, 2025. While Bill was attending college, Bonnie worked as a Pacific Bell telephone operator in Chico, CA. Following Bill’s graduation, he began his professional career with the US Forest Service in Redding, CA. Their three children: daughters Lisa Kaye; Ame Ruiz and their son Andy Andersen completed their family.

Due to transfers with the Forest Service they moved from Redding to Quincy; to Yreka; to San Francisco; to Washington, DC; another tour in Quincy, where Bill served as the Forest Administrative Officer. Bill completed his career in San Francisco in August 1999. Upon his retirement they relocated to Nipomo, CA where they resided until moving to Sequim, WA in 2024.

Bonnie was an outstanding homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. She excelled in her home decorating abilities. While living in Quincy from 1986 thru 1996 their home was frequently included on the Quincy Soroptimist Christmas Home tour. In addition Bonnie loved to needle point, arrange flowers and entertain friends with dinners and parties. During their time in Quincy, Bonnie made several close friends including Faith Swanson, Susie Bennett, Marcia Bierman and many others. Bonnie was active in her faith and was a true believer of God and Jesus.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Andersen. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Gorman of Sequim, WA, and her children Gabby (Stephanie) Lisinski and Andy (Caroline) Lisinski of Chicago, IL and Jamie Lisinski of Sequim, WA. Her daughter Ame Gordon and son- in-law Larry Gordon of Sequim, WA and Ame’s children Joshua (Erolyn) Duchi and Bonnie’s great grand-daughter Amelia of Corpus Christy, TX; Michael Wikinson and her great-grand daughters Stella and Coco Wilkinson of Sequim, WA; Her son Andy and his fiancee (Joy Rosenquist) of Eldorado Hills, CA and his children Lila Vecente (Ethan) and great-grandson Colson Vecente of Odessa, TX; and Will Andersen of Nipomo CA.

She also leaves her brother- in-law Ernie Andersen and her closest and dearest friend Lynne Andersen of Fairfax, VA; and her niece Kristen Fleming of Bristow, VA and her nephew Marc (Shaza) Andersen of Great Falls, VA.

Her family is especially thankful for the assistance provided by the Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County Washington. Bonnie’s daughters Lisa and Ame and her son-in-law Larry and grandsons Jamie Lisinski and Mike Wilkinson provided excellent assistance to Bonnie and Bill in her final struggles.
