Sherwin Williams store coming

Construction should be complete by April on a Sherwin-Williams paint store slated for the strip mall west of Walmart, said project manager Jeff Quick.

The $349,425 building permit for the project at 1400 W. Washington St., Suite 109, an addition adjacent to the existing mall’s south end, was issued two weeks ago.

The building includes the Washington state liquor store.

Quick said the project is being built for Emerald Bay Equity LLC of Seattle, which developed the River Bend project and then sold it.

The new business is one of several touted by Clallam Economic Development Council executive director Linda Rotmark at the Sept. 28 Sequim City Council meeting.

The closest Sherwin-Williams stores are in Oak Harbor and Silverdale.

The company was founded in 1866 by Henry Sherwin and Edward Williams. It has become the largest producer of paints and coatings in the United States and among the largest in the world.
