Band concert celebrates spring
The Sequim High School band holds its spring concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at the SHS auditorium, 601 N. Sequim Ave. The event includes numbers by the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. Admission is free.
Local selected for Mercer Island exhibit
The Northwest Watercolor Society announced that Port Angeles-based artist Nancy Delgado has been accepted as one of the 56 artists for the 78th annual International Open Exhibition. Her painting will be on display from April 16-June 1 at the Mercer View Gallery of the Mercer Island Community Center. Awards will be presented April 26 at the Mercer View Gallery.

Community dance set at Vern Burton
Black Diamond Junction is the featured entertainment for a community dance set for 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 6, at the Vern Burton Community C308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Admission is $8 for adults or $15 per couple; youths younger than 16 get in free. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own non-alcohol drinks and snacks to share with others.
Classic rocker, solo artist sets concert
Jesse Colin Young, critically acclaimed solo artist and lead singer of the classic rock band The Youngbloods, comes to the peninsula for a concert set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave. Following a career with The Youngbloods that included top-10 hit “Get Together,” Young began the production of more than 15 solo albums including “Song for Juli,” “Light Shine,” “Songbird” and a live album with his touring band titled, “On the Road.”
Tickets are $18-40 ($10 for youths 14 and younger) and are available at Joyful Noise Music in Sequim, Port Book and News in Port Angeles and online at jffa.org.
