A trio of Sequim students — Sophie Bean, Zoee Kuperus and Alissa Lofstrom — received People’s Choice awards for their creations as part of the BirdFest-BirdQuest contest.

Each student received a check from the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, which sponsored the Sequim Merchant Group-sponsored event.

The BirdFest-BirdQuest Grand Prize Winner for having the correct answers in the Game Card was Kristin Fetter-Walp, who lives with her family in Lake Stevens and make trips to visit her family, the Walps, in Sequim.

“Kristin is a teacher and had a fun time with her family going to the various places to find the Sequim High School ceramic birds,” volunteer Gretha Davis noted. “While locating the (BirdFest-BirdQuest) birds, each of her children bought one of the bird sculptures.”
