Milestone: Peninsula man earns U.S. Navy honor

Former Port Angeles resident Lt. Anthony J. Tordini was selected as the recipient of the 2016 Landing Signal Officer of the Year.
He was notified of his achievement in May 2017 by the Chief of Naval Air Training via the CO of Training Squadron Two-Two.
He was the most consistent with Landing Safety Officer directions.
Tordini is a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and earned his “U.S. Navy Wings of Gold” in 2010 at NAS Meridian, Miss.
He has logged more than 3,100 landings with more than 260 of those landings as carrier-arrested on six Navy air-craft carriers.
Tordini is a 2004 graduate of Port Angeles High School.
He is the son of Art and Judy Tordini of Port Angeles-Sequim.
Tordini is married to Stephanie Reed, formerly of Sequim, and is stationed at NAS Kingsville, Texas.
