Wilma D. Pyles died in her Sequim residence of age-related causes on Nov. 7, 2019. She was 85.
Pyles was born Nov. 9, 1933.

George Earl Mosebar
March 26, 1917 – October 16, 2019
The family of George Earl Mosebar is sad to announce his passing of age-related causes, at his place of residence Redmond Care and Rehabilitation, on October 16, 2019, at the age of 102.
Born on March 26, 1917, in the Yakima Valley to George and Christina Mosebar, George grew up during the Great Depression on the family farm near Mabton.
He married his first wife, Jennie Veals, on April 8, 1939, in Seattle.
He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps near the end of World War II, and upon his discharge, returned to Mabton and the farm.
For many years he grew crops such as; alfalfa, corn, potatoes, sugar beets, peas, asparagus and even spearmint. He also raised beef cattle and assisted his father with repairing and servicing Minneapolis Moline tractors. There they raised their children; Anne, Joan, John, and David.
In 1972, he sold the farm and moved to Yakima where he embarked on a successful career in real estate, eventually purchasing his own company after he and Jennie moved to Sequim, in 1973.
Retiring from real estate at a very spry 65, he and Jennie bought a motor home and traveled around the country for many years visiting; Florida, Arizona, California, Texas, Montana, and even as far north as Alaska.
George moved to Redmond to be closer to his sons after Jennie passed away in 2001. Initially visiting the Redmond Senior Center for their lunch program, George soon began volunteering for “light” kitchen duty, assisting the cook and delighting guests with all manner of homemade dishes from soups to bread and anything in between.
In 2003, George married Helen Coffman, three years his senior. They enjoyed two wonderful years together before she passed.
George was surrounded by generations of family and friends at his 100th birthday celebration in March of 2017, which included a proclamation from Redmond Mayor John Marchione and birthday wishes from U.S. Senator Patty Murray and Washington Governor Jay Inslee. Inslee wrote “that the centenarian had enriched many lives over the years, and his experiences are part of the very tapestry of our state and nation.”
When asked how he got to 100, George replied “It’s been difficult,” without missing a beat.
George was preceded in death by wife, Jennie Veals Mosebar; daughter, Anne Mosebar Valentine, newborn sons, George and Andrew; parents, George and Christina; great-grandson, Tommy Truex; and second wife, Helen Coffman.
He is survived by daughter, Joan (Vicki) Carver from Anchorage, Alaska; sons, John (Kristen) Mosebar from Redmond, and David (Heather) Mosebar from Santa Rosa, California; grandchildren, Marie (Tom) Truex, Cathy (Mike) Williams, and Bill Valentine Jr.; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with a reception to follow will be held on Friday, November 29 at 10:00 AM, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Redmond, Washington.
