Friends of Library set book sale

The Friends of Sequim Library hosts the group’s final book sale of 2020 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Rock Plaza, 10175 Old Olympic Highway.

This month’s sale includes an unusual collection of collections, from cartoons, miniatures and doll houses, to Pacific Northwest kayaking. The sale also features music CDs, and several bird and birding books in like-new condition, suitable for gift giving.

COVID-19 health protocols will be followed, event organizers note: social distancing and masks are required.

All proceeds to benefit Sequim Branch of the North Olympic Library System.

Community welcome to Holiday of Lights parade

Sinclair Place Senior Living, 680 W. Prairie St., welcomes the public to its first Holiday of Lights parade from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19. Social distancing and masks are required visitors come through the circular driveway to enjoy the lights.

Goodie bags will be handed out to the first 100 cars in the drive-thru. Attendees are encouraged to give the residents a honk and a wave as they pass.

Sequim announces outdoor dining spaces program

The City of Sequim has designed a program to allow restaurants to create outdoor dining spaces that comply with city building codes and the Gov. Jay Inslee’s orders relating to COVID-19, city officials announced last week.

The application is available on the city’s website at www.sequimwa.gov/453/Find-Forms-or-Applications. Applications can be submitted to buildingdept@sequimwa.gov for review.

Christmas Angel Program set Saturday

The Crossing Church and Fairview Bible Church will host the Christmas Angel Program from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Fairview Bible Church, 385 O’Brien Road, Port Angeles.

Toys are distributed to parents with children who are not financially able to purchase gifts. The gifts are available for infants and up to age 18. Organizers partner with Marine Toys for Tots in Port Angeles for this annual event.

Masks/cloth face coverings are required, as is safe distancing (6 feet) and latex gloves.
