Comedian returns to PC

K-Von, an internationally touring comedian who recently starred in a movie with “Napoleon Dynamite” star Jon Heder, is returning to the stage at Peninsula College on May 6 for a comedy show for students and the community.

The show kicks off at 7 p.m. in the college’s Little Theater, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. Admission is free to PC students and by donation to staff and community members (any amount). The show will feature adult content.

K-Von, who stars alongside Jon Heder in the 2021 film “Funny Thing About Love,” is best known as host of MTV’s “Disaster Date” and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” See k-voncomedy.com.

While the college no longer requires masks, guests are welcome to wear them. The show will be held in the larger of the colleges’ two theaters to allow space for those who wish to social distance, depending on turnout.

Accordion social set

The Sequim Accordion Social is set for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St.

All accordionists are invited to bring their instruments and play a selection or two. Accordion lovers and dancers are also welcome.

The featured player is Lyle Schaefer from Puyallup. Schaefer notes he played dance music for the World War II-era crowd in the I-5 corridor in the 1980s and 1990s, and played throughout the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest and Scandinavia in early 1990s with Sylvia and the Fjordson Band.

A suggested donation of $5 per person is requested to help pay for the room rental fee.

Improv group comes back to OTA stage

Olympic Theater Arts Center saw overflowing crowds the three times Imagined Reality performed at Sequim’s community stage, and their performance drew such large audiences that Imagine Reality will from now on be performing in OTA’s 160-seat Main Stage auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which plots, characters and dialogue are made up in the moment. Since 2016, Imagined Reality Improv has been entertaining audiences throughout the Olympic Peninsula. While the four women and three men of the group share a love of improv, they come from varied walks of life: a scientist, two lawyers, a classical musician, an HR guru, a marketing expert and a teenage student.

While all ages are welcome, show content is typically rated around PG-13, organizers say.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door, online at olympictheatrearts.org or by calling the box office between 1-4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
