The backstory goes a little something like this: Al Piemme, a several-times national bicycling champion and member of several Sequim bike groups, asked his wife one night what the weather was like. She told him it was good and he said, "Good — I think I'll get my clothes on and ride up Hurricane Ridge." He died shortly thereafter.

A long, long track and field season is about to come to a close — and a number of purple and gold-clad Sequim athletes will be there to cap it off.
