Kuznek-Reese completes presidency

Karen Kuznek-Reese, city clerk for the City of Sequim, will complete her 18-month term as president of the Washington Municipal Clerks Association on March 24 at the WMCA Annual Conference in Vancouver. Kuznek-Reese has been a member of the WMCA board of directors since 2007.  

Avon color, makeover event set

Sylvia Oster hosts a free Avon color and makeover event from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 26, at Prairie Springs Assisted Living, 680 W. Prairie St.

Garden Bistro opens

The Garden Bistro is now open at 104 E. Washington St., Sequim. Enjoy bistro-style sandwiches made with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses and Pane d’Amore breads, freshly made soups, salads and pies. Spring hours are Tuesday–Friday 11 a.m.- 5p.m. and Saturdays noon-4 p.m.

Kuh named officer

Brian Kuh was named commercial banking officer for Columbia Bank’s North Olympic Peninsula region. He joins the bank with more than six years of financial services experience.

Kuh, his wife and their three sons live in Sequim.

Container garden class

Henery’s Garden Center hosts a class on container gardens at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at 1060 Sequim-Dungeness Way. The class is presented by Annie Reiss from Skagit Gardens. She has more than 12 years’ experience with container gardens and brings unusual plants and ideas to share. Call 683-6969 to make a reservation.

Hole-in-one challenge poster wins gold

The poster for the $500,000 Hole-In-One Challenge to be presented this summer by 7 Cedars Casino, Ruddell Auto and Elwha River Casino received a gold award from the Washington Festival and Events Association.

Sequim’s InsideOut Solutions designed the poster; the graphics are used for marketing materials to promote the fundraiser for the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Olympic Medical Center Foundation.

Hartnagel Building Supply, 3111 Highway 101 East, Port Angeles, is open 10 a.m.-

3 p.m. Sundays as of March 20. The store also is open

7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

This is a juried crafts show; no imported or manufactured goods are allowed. Nonprofit booths are not charged.
