Free small-business tax workshop offered

The Port Angeles office of the Washington State Department of Revenue hosts a free tax workshop for new and small business owners from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Clallam Transit System Conference Room, 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

Topics include excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. Participants may ask questions specific to their businesses and all receive a workbook and guide to department rules and regulations.

Open Aire Market hosts vendors meeting

The Sequim Open Aire Market hosts its annual preseason vendor meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Sequim High School Cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave. Returning vendors and those interested in becoming vendors should attend.

It is not necessary to bring any products or wares; a jury meeting can be arranged after the vendor meeting.
