Orth earns certification

Olympic Medical Cancer Center’s Kathryn Orth, R.N., earned oncology nursing certification through the Oncology Nursing Society. An oncology certified nurse specializes in providing support for patients undergoing cancer treatments.

To qualify to take the oncology nursing certification exam, Orth had to meet the eligibility requirements of a minimum of 1,000 hours of oncology nursing care practice.

Orth earned her nursing degree from University of Anchorage, Alaska, in 2005 and has been a registered nurse with Olympic Medical Cancer Center since December 2008.

Shoe drive scheduled

Sleep Country USA’s Foster Kids Shoe Drive accepts donations of new shoes for boys and girls from Jan. 3-30 at 1041 W. Washington St., Sequim.

Shoes in all sizes can be dropped off. They will be matched with area foster children in need.
