Learn the homebuying process

Prospective homeowners can take a free two-part Homebuyer Education Class from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, March 27 and March 29, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. The two classes fulfill HUD requirements for a certificate required for programs such as Washington State House Key Bond loans, USDA, Habitat for Humanity and USDA Rural Development loans. Area designer takes top awards

Alicia Brewin, principal designer of Alicia Interiors in Port Angeles, took first and second place in the Best Kitchen Design category at the 13th annual NW Design Awards on March 8 at the Seattle Design Center. Burkhardt reappointed to advisory committee

Neil W. Burkhardt, of McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road, Sequim, has been reappointed to the Washing Department of Agriculture plant protection division’s Nursery Advisory Committee. He represents the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association. The committee addresses funding issues, dealing with pest and disease threats and building more effective and responsive programs. Burkhardt’s term runs until the end of 2014.
