Parents, youths and professionals are invited to stop by and meet speech pathologist Dana Doss from 3-6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at 803 Carlsborg Road. Enjoy some homemade delectables and laugh during storybook sharing at 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Carlson earns certification

Alyeen Carlson, Clallam Transit System administrative and payroll assistant and deputy clerk to the board, has earned the highly esteemed Certified Municipal Clerk professional designation through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The CMC certification represents dedication to excellence, course work, examinations, experience, and meeting standards approved by the IIMC’s Education Department. Carlson has worked in her position since December 2006.

P.A. farmers market welcomes new vendors

The Port Angeles Farmers Market announces the addition of two new vendors to its Saturday morning line-up. WeDo Fudge owners Charles and Christina Norman began the business of making fudge in 2013 and offer many different styles and flavors. Free samples are available. Also new to the market is Eric Pozgay, known as “The Fresh Food Guy” bringing fresh, handmade pastas and raviolis to the market. The Port Angeles Farmers Market is open year-round on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Call 460-0361.

Retirement center celebrates

The grand re-opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Park View Villa, 1430 Park View Lane, Port Angeles, will be from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 27. The public is welcome to attend.

Attends workshop

Dave Kreps of Kreps Construction, LLC, attended a two-day workshop in Vancouver. Day one covered an advanced system for waterproofing showers and other wet areas. Day two covered tile installation over radiant floor-heating systems. For more information, call Kreps at 681-3737.

Second Chance CCVS, Sequim, has joined thousands of animal welfare organizations across North America and beyond that list their homeless pets on Petfinder, the online leader in responsible pet adoptions. Petfinder is the largest database of adoptable animals on the Internet.

Successful vendor fair

On March 12, the Sequim Association of Realtors hosted a vendor fair at the Sequim Prairie Grange Hall. Affiliate members of the association and referred service providers were invited to set up a booth at the event to meet members of the Sequim and Port Angeles Realtor Associations. Sequim association president Heidi Hansen said, “This is a great way for our agents to meet with the most qualified and trusted providers as we are often asked to make recommendations to our clients. We had a great turnout today.”
