Lavender farm store opens, Carrie's Corner reopens, and more.

Learn about pain management solutions

Ulia Cummings, physical therapist from Sequim MFR, will be giving a free public lecture at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, on the topic of “Pain Management Solutions.”

Lavender farm store opens

The Purple Haze Lavender Farm Store, 180 Bell Bottom Road, Sequim, opens May 13 and will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Monday during May.  Starting Memorial Day, the farm store will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily through Labor Day Weekend.  Lavender ice cream and plants also are available at the farm.

Yoga instructor earns certification

Via Vita Chiropractic & Wellness, 128 W. Bell St., Sequim, announces yoga instructor Renzo Reyes is now a Certified Health Coach. Reyes offers one-on-one or group coaching sessions, pantry makeovers, grocery store guidance and recipe revamps. He also teaches a variety of yoga classes during the week, including Chair Yoga, which is accessible to all levels. Chair Yoga is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-11:30 a.m. at Via Vita beginning June 7.

Carrie’s Corner reopens

Carrie’s Corner is opening at a new location on Monday, May 16, in the Valley Plaza behind Sears and Big 5 at 160 Harrison Road #5. The shop specializes in collectables, Norman Rockwell plates, M&Ms, Precious Moments animals, household items, Lamps by Larry, furniture, art, picture frames, various vintage pieces and select consignment items. Hours will be 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday.  There will be a sneak preview/pre-opening party from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 13. The public is invited to attend.

Dine in to support Picklers

The Sequim Picklers invite the community to join them at the Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St. in Sequim, from 8-11 a.m. and 2-5 p.m. Thursday, May 26.

During these hours, 15 percent of food sales will be donated by the diner to support pickleball court construction at Carrie Blake Park.

Business adds instructor, expands classes

Peninsula Jazzercise, 125 E. Fifth St., Port Angeles, has added Robin Keen, a newly certified Jazzercise instructor, to its team. She will be teaching classes in Sequim and Port Angeles, as needed. The business also is adding classes in Port Angeles at the Jefferson Elementary School Gym, 218 E. 12th St., taught by Stacey Sanders at 5:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday, starting on May 16.

Current or new students who get a membership can attend classes at any of its three locations: Jefferson, the Jazzercise Center and Sequim Jazzercise at the Aspire Academy of Expressive Arts, 160 Harrison Road, Sequim.
