Here are Clallam County Environmental Health Services’ restaurant/ food businesses and pool inspections for the month of October.
Inspectors visited 35 establishments, and found 24 locations with perfect scores. Two locations were reinspected.
Eleven locations were found with varying health and/or retail practice violations.

Point Deductions
The establishments below were determined to have a less-than perfect score. As of the Gazette’s print deadline, no business had been reinspected or received a revised score.
• AMK Enterprises, 807 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles
(5-point deduction): Raw foods of animal origin stored over ready-to-eat food in the refrigeration unit. Correct by Oct. 15. No reinspection required.
• The Big Elk Sequim Restaurant Inc., 707 E. Washington St., Sequim
(5-point deduction): Must obtain Certified Food Protection Manager Certification by Dec. 31. No reinspection required.
• Ron’s Food Mart (Corner Store), 170 N. Forks Ave., Forks
(5-point deduction): The warewashing sink was not observed cleaned and sanitized after thawing chicken and before thawing and warewashing at the same time. No correct by date given. No reinspection required.
• Westside Pizza Sequim, 540 W. Washington St., Sequim
(5-point deduction): Remove accumulated dirt/grease from hood ventilation. Correct by Oct. 16. No reinspection required.
• Joshua’s Restaurant and Lounge, 113 S. Del Guzzi Drive, Port Angeles
(10-point deduction): Foods read a temperature of 45 degrees and cold holding is 41 degrees or below; thermometers must be in all refrigerators and staff must monitor ongoing temperature to maintain 41 degrees or below. Correct issues by Oct. 24 and 31. No reinspection required.
• Marine Drive Chevron, 402 Marine Drive, Port Angeles
(10-point deduction): Test kit not available for sanitizer; must clean and rinse food-contact surfaces and must be effectively sanitized before coming in contact with food. Correct by Oct. 29. No reinspection required.
• Songohan LLC, 990 E. Washington St., Sequim
(13-point deduction): person in charge did not have a valid food workers card; compartment sink was in a state of disrepair and damaged; and a sanitizer test kit is not being used to ensure the chemical solutions are at the proper concentration. Correct by Oct. 8. No reinspection required.
• 1st Street Market and Deli, 210 E. First St., Port Angeles
(20-point deduction): Employees are not properly trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties; the handwash sink at the kitchen is being used for purposes other than washing hands; employees are using a two-compartment sink for warewashing in a manner that does conform to the approval conditions that were previously established. Correct various issues by Oct. 23 and 30. No reinspection required.
• Three Rivers Resort Restaurant, 7764 W. LaPush Road, Forks
(20-point deduction): Person in charge was unable to demonstrate knowledge of the regulations to the regulatory authority representative; utensils and food contact surfaces in contact with raw meats were not sanitized after cleaning and before being used. Correct by Oct. 8. No reinspection required.
• Fiesta Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, 636 E. Front St., Port Angeles
(25-point deduction): food was cooled using improper methods. Correct by Oct. 15. No reinspection required.
• Pho New Saigon, 106 W. Front St., Port Angeles
(35-point deduction): employees are not aware of or are not practicing proper methods to rapidly cool potentially hazardous food; methods are not being used to control pests. Correct issues required between Oct. 23-Nov. 6. Reinspection required.
Pool inspection
County staff also had a routine inspection of one pool in October and found no critical issues.
• Sunland Homeowner’s Association’s pool routine
(5-point deduction): Overflow system improperly functioning, fix by April 1, 2026; skimmer weirs not in place, correct by April 1, 2026; monitoring and record keeping improperly maintained, correct by April 1, 2026; chemicals improperly stored and locked, correct by Nov. 12; filter assemblies have been changed with different units and any modifications to facility, except same make and model, must go through the Washington State Department of Health Water Recreation Program Plan Review process, correct by April 1, 2026. No reinspection required.
