Halong Bay Asian Bistro is now providing a taste of Asia in Sequim.

The new bistro, located in the former home of the Dynasty Restaurant in the QFC Shopping Center, provides a wide range of options, including Chinese and Vietnamese specialties.

The name derives from the famous Halong Bay in Vietnam, which is known for the vaulting monolithic islands that rise spectacularly from its waters.

Bistro owner Tom Chen said he has brought in Michael Lin, the former head cook of Honey Court Seafood Restaurant in Seattle, to provide the peninsula with an opportunity to try out new delights from the East. Among the house specialties are “Seven-Flavor Beef” and the “Imperial Pork Chop.” Chen said Lin’s “Honey-Walnut Prawns” are spectacularly good.

The three entrees, which are served with rice, all are in the $13-$14 range.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and noon-9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The beer and wine license is coming soon, Chen said.

Halong Bay is at 990 E. Washington St.
