Kudos go to OMC employees

Olympic Medical Center’s board of commissioners and Chief Executive Officer Eric Lewis recognized 14 employees for their excellence at the March 5 commissioners meeting.

Olympic Medical Center’s board of commissioners and Chief Executive Officer Eric Lewis recognized 14 employees for their excellence at the March 5 commissioners meeting.

Specifically, 10 employees received recognition for outstanding improvement work that has led to more prompt admission to the hospital from the emergency department.

Recognized employees include: Mendi Sayer, RN, intensive care unit; Myrna Dueno, RN, intensive care unit; Bruce Schwab, RN, emergency room; Katie Hulett, RN, intensive care unit; Robin Burse, RN, supervisor, medical/surgical unit; Denise Waters, RN, medical/surgical unit; Pam Blakeman, RN, house supervisor, nursing administration; Leah Hutson, RN, clinical informatics; Michael Manley, housekeeping; and Paula Wahl, quality support services. With Lewis is board president Jim Leskinovitch.

Excellence in OB nursing

A patient wrote a letter praising registered nurses Danielle Wagner, Joy Hauge and Carolynn Addleman for their excellent care during her recent labor, delivery and post-partum recovery at Olympic Medical Center.

Improvements in Echo access

Lewis and the board recognized Amy Ahlin, cardiac echosonographer, for her instrumental role in improving access to echocardiograms in the cardiac services unit, as well as her leadership during a time of management transition in mid 2013.

February Leadership Award

Mary Romstadt, RN, director of surgical services at Olympic Medical, received the management-level “Leadership Award” in February from Lewis at the monthly management meeting.
