Milestone: OMC honors three for commitment to nursing

Laurie Elmer, Carolynn Addleman and Barb Bentley, obstetrics nurses at Olympic Medical Center, received honors recently at a board of commissioners meeting.

According to Chris Johnson, director of obstetrics and new family services, “Laurie is a strong advocate for the nursing profession. Her children have followed in her nursing footsteps and she regularly encourages co-workers to continue their education.”

“Carolynn’s confidence and strong presence makes her a great resource for providers, staff and patients,” Johnson said. “She is an excellent charge nurse and remains calm under difficult situations.”

Early in her career, Bentley worked as a clinic nurse in a remote area of Nepal. “Barb’s global nursing experience brings a unique and valuable perspective to the delivery unit,” Johnson said.
