Olympic Medical Center employee Vickie Everrett, RD, CNSC, CDE, is now a certified diabetes educator.

Everrett recently passed her certification exam through the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.

Everrett has been working for Olympic Medical as a registered dietitian since October 2007, providing clinical inpatient care and outpatient nutrition consultations, as well as offering direction to the patient room service team. As a certified diabetes educator, Everrett will educate patients on the importance of meal planning, exercise and goal setting. She also will provide medication and insulin instruction, psychosocial support, and help minimize risks and complications of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

The Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators is designed and intended solely for health care professionals who have defined roles as diabetes educators. Everrett will see diabetes patients for any diabetes-related issue, in addition to nutrition consults.
