Parents, children, money matters are focus of workshop

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans hosts a free educational workshop to teach parents and their children about money management and values.

Called “Parents, Kids and Money Matters®,” the 50-minute workshop is slated for 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, at First Baptist Church, 1323 Sequim-Dungeness Way, Sequim.

The workshop is presented by Stephen C. Moser and Lisa H. Pierson, financial representatives with Thrivent Financial in Sequim.

“Parents, Kids and Money Matters” gives parents and their children ages 6-10 a chance to engage in simultaneous workshops about money management and values. In the workshop parents learn to reflect on the values they want their children to learn; teach their children about values and money; and learn practical tools to make teaching about money fun.

Children will discover three basic money choices: sharing, saving and spending.

They also will begin to understand that money can be used to help others.

To register for the workshop, call the local office of Thrivent Financial at 681-8882 or e-mail stephen.moser@thrivent.com.

A complimentary light dinner will be served.

The workshop is intended only to educate participants about financial decisions. No products will be offered for sale.
