Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market opens Saturday, May 3

Mark your calendars, call your friends, and get your reusable bags ready, because the Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market season starts on Saturday, May 3!

We have over 50 vendors joining us this year — including 14 new ones — and are continuing our food access and kids programs to support the well-being of our community.

This Saturday at 9 a.m., The Market will open with our annual ribbon cutting event in collaboration with the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce. The first 20 people to visit our Info Booth with reusable bags will receive a $2 voucher that they can spend with any market vendor.

The first Saturday of every month is also “Kid’s Day,” so the first 20 kids will receive a $3 voucher that they can use to buy fruits or veggies. We’ll also have a fun nature weaving and drawing activity for kids that will be led by Frances Rice of the Maple Wood Learning Enrichment Program.

Around 12:30 p.m., the Sequim High School Operetta club will stop by to perform a few songs from their production of “Oklahoma!”

One of the ways The Market creates access to healthy, locally-grown food is through the “Growing Your Market Match with Sound Community Bank” program.

If you are someone who has a SNAP/EBT, WIC or Senior FMNP card, then you are eligible for additional funding that can be spent on certain foods at The Market. Each program is eligible for different amounts, so be sure to visit our Info Booth to learn more.

There will be so much good food, great music, and fun for everyone at The Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market this season. If you’d like to stay up-to-date on what’s happening each week, you can tune in to KSQM on Fridays at 2 p.m. for our market preview or follow us on Instagram (@sequimmarket) and Facebook.
